Tiato increases its production capacity with the installation of a Canon Colorado M5W and Mimaki CJV200-160 from CMYUK at its new, larger facility.
Tiato has purchased Canon Colorado M5W and Mimaki CJV200-160 printers from CMYUK, marking the latest phase in the company’s recent expansion. This follows the installation of a JWEI digital cutting table in early 2024 and a relocation to larger premises intended to facilitate a more efficient workflow.
The new equipment is situated in a facility double the size of the company’s previous site, allowing different production tasks to be handled simultaneously and reducing the potential for interruptions during the manufacturing process.

The Canon Colorado M5W, a 1.6m wide UVgel printer, has been integrated into the workflow to handle volume requirements on shorter deadlines. The system has specifically impacted the production of flexible Ferro paper used in retail campaign rollouts.
Tim Tomblin, founder of Tiato, said, “We process lots of flexible Ferro paper, which works with magnetic surfaces, and produce anything between four and eight rolls for retail campaign rollouts. The Canon Colorado has speeded this up. We are now able to print four rolls a day, whereas before we were printing one roll overnight and a single roll during the day.”
The increased output has allowed the team to manage larger projects more quickly. Tomblin noted that a recent 90m hoarding project was printed, laminated, cut, and installed within 24 hours, a task he noted would previously have required significantly more time. The M5W model includes white UVgel ink and FLXfinish+ capability for varied surface finishes.
The investment also includes a Mimaki CJV200-160 eco-solvent printer, which replaces an older CJV300 unit. This roll-to-roll device is dedicated to vehicle wraps and specialist graphics, providing the team with updated calibration features while maintaining a familiar user interface.
“I love Mimaki printers,” Tomblin said. “They are very reliable, and the colour is excellent. The CJV200 is a nice upgrade. It is quieter and fits our vehicle wrap work and specialist graphics perfectly.”
The company continues its partnership with CMYUK, citing technical support and communication as primary reasons for the ongoing relationship. Tomblin noted that the support team is consistently helpful in resolving technical queries promptly.
“The new printers have freed up time, opened up opportunities, and put us in a place to target more direct business,” Tomblin concluded.
