Signbox completes digital screen installation at the iconic Oxo Tower Wharf

ISA UK member, Signbox was commissioned to supply and install 11, 43” digital displays in various locations across the area to replace old, illuminated poster frames

Coin Street Community Builders

Coin Street is a non-profit social enterprise based in Waterloo and North Southwark in London. Its original 13-acre derelict site was regenerated following a remarkable campaign by local residents and supporters that saw Coin Street purchase the land in 1984.

Coin Street Community Builders (CSCB) was formed to make the SE1 neighbourhood a better place to live, work and play. Limited by guarantee, CSCB carries out commercial work, but its income is used to deliver public service projects rather than being distributed to shareholders.

The site is home to the award-winning Oxo Tower Wharf shopping and retail centre. This landmark destination on London’s South Bank houses some of the UK’s most exciting and internationally renowned designers, eateries, bars and exhibition venues.

A powerful network of eye-catching, interactive digital displays

Signbox was commissioned to supply and install 11, 43” digital displays in various locations across the area to replace old, illuminated poster frames. The eye-catching screens were to display a range of information from wayfinding instructions and advertisements to retailer details, events, campaigns and other messaging.

A key feature of the display solution lies in its interactivity. The network of display screens incorporate dynamic QR codes that enable visitors to interact with brands on the site and, in turn, allow the brands to capture data from their audience via QR code tracking.

Nine of the displays were installed outside on brick walls, fencing and iron railing using bespoke mounting brackets. Two display screens were wall-mounted inside the Oxo Tower Wharf building. Each display location was equipped with a power source and router with roaming sim cards to disseminate the appropriate messaging.

The Coin Street community and its visitors now have an engaging network of dynamic digital displays that are used to communicate, convey and capture information for the benefit of everyone who uses this vibrant area.
