Roland DG signals shift with new brand identity and product launch

Roland DG launches “Make Your Mark” to highlight creativity and coincide with the launch of TrueVis VG4 Series

Roland DG has unveiled a comprehensive global brand refresh alongside the introduction of its latest hardware series, marking a strategic shift from a hardware-focused manufacturer to a provider of integrated digital imaging solutions. The new brand message, “Make Your Mark,” builds on established engineering heritage while refocusing the company’s mission of empowering creators to produce work that delivers a meaningful impact.

Coinciding with this brand evolution is the launch of the TrueVis VG4 Series. Available in 54-inch (VG4-540) and 64-inch (VG4-640) models, these next-generation eco-solvent print-and-cut machines are engineered to provide sign makers and print service providers with superior image quality and greater operational efficiency. The VG4 series arrives as the first hardware line to debut under the refreshed identity, with the intention to embody the company’s commitment to combining high-performance hardware with intelligent software and sustainable supplies.

Roland DG’s new TrueVis VG4 Series is the first hardware launched under the “Make Your Mark” global branding

The TrueVis VG4 Series introduces refined image quality through high-precision ink droplet control and advanced colour processing. A notable update is the expanded availability of TR3 eco-solvent inks, which now include Red and Light Black for both the VG4 Series and the TrueVis XG-640. These additions enable more precise brand colour matching, richer mid-tones, and improved neutral greys. High-density white ink performance has also been improved, specifically for premium layered and backlit graphics.

Beyond output quality, the VG4 Series focuses on reducing manual intervention and lowering running costs. The devices feature a 30% reduction in ink consumption compared to competitor models and allow users to start prints directly from the machine’s control panel. Integration with the Roland DG Connect app enables remote job management, while the inclusion of VersaWorks 7 RIP software, compatible with both Windows and macOS, simplifies complex workflows with native PDF 2.0 support and advanced colour tools.

The new “Make Your Mark” identity is designed to reflect the company’s evolution towards supporting customer ambition.

Stephen Davis, Director of Global Marketing – Brand & Communications at Roland DG, noted that the “Make Your Mark” refresh recognises the pride customers take in their work. This sentiment was echoed by Kohei Tanabe, President of Roland DG, who stated, “This new brand identity builds on our heritage whilst reflecting how we and the world around us have evolved. It is about supporting people with the reliable solutions and partnership they need to leave a positive impression.”

The new TR3 inks are GBL-free and supplied in cardboard-based cartridges, while finished prints carry GREENGUARD Gold certification, making them suitable for sensitive indoor environments. For specific markets, the series also supports the more cost-effective D-EA2 ink option.

Ryugo Nimura, Executive Officer of the Global Sales and Marketing Division, concluded, “With the TrueVis VG4 Series, we’ve focused on delivering what matters most to sign makers today—outstanding image quality, predictable colour, and a smarter, more efficient workflow. VG4 empowers users to produce premium graphics with confidence, whilst keeping productivity high and running costs low.”

The new brand identity and TrueVis VG4 hardware will be featured prominently at major 2026 international trade events, including the ISA Expo in Orlando and FESPA in Barcelona.nd-cut production, embodying the company’s commitment to smarter, more efficient production workflows.
