The swissQprint Oryx 5 is a large format flatbed printer designed for users with a requirement for high-quality output and small to medium print volumes. It is built on the company’s Generation 5 platform and features a 2.5×2m flatbed area. The printer incorporates UV-LED curing technology for instant drying and low energy consumption. It is equipped with Konica Minolta Q1280i printheads and offers up to 10 freely configurable colour channels, allowing for versatility in ink configurations, including a range of specialty inks.
The system is capable of printing on a variety of rigid and flexible materials up to 50 mm thick, with a maximum bed size of 2500 x 2030 mm. An optional oversize board feature allows for the printing of rigid media up to four metres in length. The printer’s productivity reaches a top speed of 114 sqm/h, while its maximum addressable resolution is up to 1350 dpi. The Oryx 5 is designed for both sign and display applications as well as interior décor, packaging prototyping, and fine art printing. The machine also includes a Tip Switch Vacuum system with individually controlled zones to ensure secure media hold-down without the need for manual masking.
