The Hapond UP3321D is a 3.2-metre UV roll-to-roll printer with a unique dual-carriage system that enables simultaneous double-sided printing. This design, which effectively combines two printers into one chassis, is engineered to increase efficiency in high-volume production environments by eliminating the need to reload and align media for second-surface printing. It is particularly suitable for applications such as backlit displays, flags, and banners where image consistency and registration between the front and back are critical.
The printer’s architecture allows for multiple operational modes. In its primary double-sided mode, it prints on both sides of a single 3.2m roll at the same time. The dual independent print carriages also allow the machine to function as two separate printers, capable of running two different jobs on two separate 1.6m rolls simultaneously. The UP3321D is available with a choice of Konica Minolta printheads (6pl or 13pl) in one, two, or three-row configurations, allowing users to prioritise either fine detail or higher production speeds. It uses UV-curable inks with an LED curing system and is available in four or six-colour configurations, with an option for white ink to further expand its application range onto various media types.
