The Epson SureColor SC-S80600 is a large format roll-to-roll solvent printer designed for signage, display graphics, POS, vehicle graphics, wall murals, exhibition backdrops and similar applications. It is part of Epson’s SC-S series and employs dual PrecisionCore TFP printheads, together with the UltraChrome GS3 with Red ink formulation, offering optional White or Metallic Silver inks, to deliver a wide colour gamut including special colours such as Red and Orange. It supports media widths up to 64-inch (approximately 1,626 mm) and can handle substrate thickness up to 1.0 mm.
A sophisticated substrate handling system includes auto-tension control (AD-ATC), wide-diameter feed rollers, anti-static flexible pressure rollers, and an auto take-up reel for roll media. Print margins are small (top/bottom approx. 5 mm, left/right approx. 3 mm) in roll mode. Resolution is up to 1,440 x 1,440 dpi, with minimum droplet size of 4.2 picolitres. Ink capacities are generally 700 ml per standard colour, with White at 600 ml and Metallic Silver at 350 ml.
Standard interfaces include USB 2.0, Ethernet, and included software such as Epson Edge Print and Epson Edge Dashboard. Power consumption in use is around 650 W, with economy, standby and off-mode values significantly lower. The SC-S80600 is supplied with a two-year on-site warranty in the UK, with options for extended warranty. Launched in 2016, it replaced the SC-S70600 and remains in use for high-volume, high-quality solvent print production.
