The Canon imagePROGRAF GP-6600S is a 60-inch large-format printer developed for high-volume poster and signage production. It uses a seven-colour pigment ink system (LUCIA PRO II), which includes matte black, photo black, cyan, magenta, yellow, grey, and orange. This configuration is designed to provide an extended colour range and support consistent image reproduction.
The GP-6600S is equipped with a single PF-10 print head, containing 18,432 nozzles. It supports a maximum print resolution of 2400 × 1200 dpi and a minimum droplet size of 4 picolitres. The printer uses thermal inkjet technology and features Canon’s L-COA PRO processing engine. It includes 3 GB of RAM and a 500 GB encrypted hard drive for data handling and print job management.
This model supports roll media up to 1,524 mm wide and 0.8 mm thick. It includes dual-roll functionality and automatic media loading and switching. Borderless printing is supported across standard widths. Ink is supplied in cartridges, and the ink layout is mirrored to support bidirectional printing.
Included software applications are Professional Print & Layout, Direct Print Plus, Free Layout Plus, and Accounting Manager. These tools allow for layout design, job tracking, and basic colour control. The GP-6600S meets EPEAT Gold and ENERGY STAR environmental standards. It was launched in 2024 and is suitable for use in commercial print environments requiring large-format output for graphics, displays, and signage.
