Premier and Drytac collaborate to create ‘greener solution’

PaperTac self adhesive coated paper can be mounted on fibre based board for full recyclability

Premier and Drytac launch a brand new fully recyclable, self-adhesive, premium, coated paper developed exclusively for the wide format sign and display market. Available exclusively through Premier in the UK and Ireland, PaperTac gives printers a practical, high-performing solution to help their customers reduce signage waste and meet their sustainability targets.

Commissioned by Premier’s Sign & Display team, PaperTac was developed in response to growing demand from customers and end-users for more recyclable print solutions. PaperTac features a 140gsm white matt coated paper with a clear permanent adhesive. It is compatible with aqueous, latex and UV print technologies, making it extremely versatile

It can be mounted to a rigid fibre-based display board, and because it is 100% recyclable, the entire product can be recycled in a single waste stream. There is no need to separate the adhesive paper face layer from the substrate. That means even printers without direct to substrate capabilities can offer their customers a signage solution that is not only high-quality and durable but also fully recyclable at end-of-life.

PaperTac delivers up to five years’ indoor durability

“PaperTac represents a significant step forward for printers and end users wanting to make more sustainable choices, reducing waste and diverting it from landfill”, said Brad West, Wide Format Director, UK & Ireland. “By combining PaperTac with fibre-based boards, PSPs can offer a recyclable alternative to traditional indoor signage, all without needing a flatbed printer. It’s a practical solution that allows customers to utilise their current roll-fed printing equipment even further to support clients’ environmental goals with amazing print results!”

PaperTac achieved a 91/100 recyclability score in testing under the CEPI Recyclability Test Method v2 (October 2022). Both the face paper and adhesive were proven to recycle together with no visual or adhesion issues, allowing the final signage, when mounted to a fibre-based board, to be recycled like standard fibre-based waste.

Printers can pair PaperTac with rigid, fibre-based substrates such as Oppboga Excellent Display, Oppboga Display Board, Ultra Board 3D, Ultra Board 2D, Ultra Board Universal and Ultra Board Graphic. These combinations allow the delivery of recyclable signage for clients in retail, events, exhibitions and are perfect for campaigns with environmental goals or corporate sustainability commitments.

With water-repellent and scratch-resistant properties, PaperTac also delivers up to five years’ indoor durability, making it ideal for retail and promotional signage, point-of-sale displays, exhibition and event graphics and short-term indoor mounted posters.

PaperTac is available exclusively through Premier, with next-day delivery across the UK and Ireland. Free samples are available for sign and display printers looking to build more sustainable signage options into their offering.
