New Insurance Scheme for Sign-makers

Howden Print Scheme partners with a major insurer for improved cover designed specifically for the signage sector

The Howden Print Scheme has announced a significant expansion of its offering through a new strategic partnership with one of the largest insurers in the world. This collaboration is set to deliver market leading insurance solutions specifically tailored to the unique risks faced by the signage, vehicle livery, and large format print sectors.

Luke Wildey, Development Executive for Howden Insurance, says, “The Howden Print Scheme has already provided print businesses across the UK with access to cover extensions and endorsements usually reserved for business paying high premiums. This new partnership enables us to focus on delivering the broadest possible protection at the best value for our customers.”

The enhanced scheme has been designed to address the specific, complex requirements of businesses that print, produce, create, install, or maintain signage. “Crucially, the partnership delivers additional areas of cover for high-risk activities that are daily realities for many in the trade,” says Luke.

This includes essential protection for teams working at height or operating in high-footfall and high-risk areas. The new offering also addresses the specific liabilities involved in handling client assets. It provides cover for damage to customer property and protects businesses when staff are driving customer vehicles on public highways for collection or delivery. It also extends comprehensive protection to the application of graphics, whether the work is carried out at the business’s own premises or off-site.

Luke believes this development creates a standout solution for the trade. “This scheme presents a market-leading insurance option specifically tailored to the signage industry. It is perfectly suited to the requirements of all businesses that print, produce, create, install or maintain signage.”

Luke adds that the scheme was developed through direct consultation with the industry over the last year. “I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the signage and installation businesses who engaged with me in the development of this during 2025. I look forward to readdressing your cases with these new tools in our armoury and am eager to deliver on my promises.”

The expanded scheme is available now for businesses looking to review their risk protection.
