New Epson SC-V4000 targets growth in personalisation

Epson has expanded its V-Series with the launch of the SC-V4000, a mid-range A1+ UV flatbed printer featuring a 10-colour ink set and simultaneous multi-layer printing

Epson has officially announced the launch of the SC-V4000, an A1+ UV flatbed printer designed to meet the increasing demand for productivity and image quality in the small-to-medium signage and personalisation sectors. Positioned between the entry-level SC-V1000 and the high-end industrial SC-V7000, the new model offers a professional-grade “workhorse” solution for businesses operating in compact production environments across Europe.

The SC-V4000 features a table size of 980 × 700 mm (A1+), allowing for the simultaneous printing of two A2-sized items. A major technical highlight is the 10-colour UltraChrome UV ink set, which includes CMYK, Light Cyan, Light Magenta, Grey, and Red, plus White and Varnish. The inclusion of red and grey inks significantly expands the colour gamut and improves tonal gradations, making the system ideal for high-definition photography, fine art, and brand-critical signage.

Efficiency is driven by three PrecisionCore printheads, which support simultaneous three-layer printing. This allows for the concurrent deposition of White, Colour, and Varnish, enabling operators to produce high-impact textured finishes and spot gloss effects without the downtime associated with sequential layering. Furthermore, Epson’s Variable Sized Dot Technology (VSDT) ensures exceptional clarity, with the ability to reproduce sharp text down to 2pt.

Chris Davies from Epson Europe commented, “The SC-V4000 printer raises the bar in the UV flatbed market. With superior colour reproduction, an expanded colour gamut, and improved gradation, we are providing our customers with the means to produce remarkable results for high-quality personalised print items on a diverse range of substrates.”

The printer accommodates objects up to 200mm in thickness and is compatible with a wide array of rigid and flexible materials, including wood, acrylic, vinyl, and premium packaging. For complex or three-dimensional surfaces that cannot be printed directly, the SC-V4000 is fully compatible with Epson’s UV DTFilm solutions.

To support reliable daily operation, the system features a full front-access design for maintenance and media handling. Additional safety and efficiency features include a multi-zone vacuum system for stable media control, an automatic media height laser sensor to prevent printhead strikes, and a jam detection system.

The SC-V4000 is supplied with Epson Edge Print Pro software and incorporates fully automated printhead cleaning. This combination of high-end image quality and industrial-grade reliability is intended to help scaling businesses move into higher-value customisation and décor segments with confidence.

The new SC-V4000 is scheduled for release across Europe in Summer 2026.
