Mimaki UCJV330 Series achieve 3M MCS Warranty approval

Mimaki’s UCJV330 series and LUS-170/175 inks are now approved for the 3M MCS Warranty

MiMimaki Engineering Co. Ltd. has received approval for its UCJV330 series large-format printers and associated UV-curable inks, LUS-170 and LUS-175, under the 3M MCS Warranty programme. This certification establishes a technical standard for finished graphics, offering a non-prorated warranty that covers the intended lifespan of the output against material failures such as fading, cracking, and peeling.

The UCJV330 series is Mimaki’s flagship LED-UV print-and-cut system, designed for high-productivity environments. The integration of LUS-170 and LUS-175 inks allows for immediate post-print processing, as UV-curable technology eliminates the drying times required by solvent-based alternatives. This enables print service providers to proceed directly to lamination and installation, reducing total production cycles.

Technical performance is a primary focus of the certification. The LUS-170 and LUS-175 inks are engineered with high stretchability, which is a critical requirement for conformability on curved surfaces, such as vehicle wraps and complex fleet graphics. The 3M MCS Warranty approval ensures that these materials, when used in combination with approved 3M media, maintain their physical integrity and colour density throughout the duration of the warranty period.

The certification covers a range of ink colours, including Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, Light Cyan, and Light Magenta. While the LUS-170 ink is widely available, the LUS-175 variant is distributed in specific global regions.

Regarding the development, Kazuaki Ikeda, President & CEO of Mimaki Engineering, said, “The addition of our product line to the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty Program further strengthens the cooperation between our companies. Customers can expect greater confidence in the quality of graphics production using the products and solutions offered by both companies.”
