William Smith’s league of superhero-branded media deliver affordable, quality solutions for key wrapping applications

Sign and graphics display media distributor William Smith is promoting its range of affordable wrapping materials under a superhero branding that has drawn plenty of attention. The ‘Afourdables’ range is a carefully selected collection of high-performance films designed to deliver exceptional quality at a price point that respects today’s economic pressures.
“Almost everything that we do at William Smith is customer-led and customer-driven,” says Steve Laundon, Head of Sales. “We’re well aware of how rising costs are impacting businesses. That feedback was coming back from many of our customers, so we developed a quality range of products that, as the badge says, is ‘Afourdable’.”

Careful selection
Superheroes are always carefully chosen and the ‘Afourdables’ range is no different. The four initial products have been carefully selected to cover the most common applications, from high-end vehicle wraps to everyday signage and the rapidly expanding interiors market. The initial four “hero” products include:
- VWrap Pro: A premium 50-micron cast wrapping film featuring the latest in application technology.
- Arlon DPF 6100XLP: A trusted and proven 50-micron cast film, positioned as a high-quality, budget-conscious cast option.
- VION VP5075: A versatile 75-micron polymeric film, ideal for a huge range of everyday signage applications.
- VION DECOR: A durable polymeric calendered PVC for the architectural and interior wrapping market.

Steve insists that affordability does not mean a compromise on quality. “Low cost is often not synonymous with quality. But we don’t do low-quality products. We’ve developed this range so we can confidently say to our customers, ‘These products are class, you’ll find them very competitive on price’. We’re not compromising on the quality element we’re well known for.”
A key product featured in the range is architectural film. “It’s a fantastic growth area for the industry,” says Laundon. “The demand is growing because you can transform objects, areas, and surfaces quickly and efficiently with cutting-edge designs. The VION DECOR range, coupled with William Smith’s renowned training programmes, makes these profitable applications more accessible than ever.”
Initially launching with four products—inspiring the “Afourdables” name and superhero-themed marketing—the plan is to rotate and develop the range based on customer feedback. “The campaign has been running since June and I’m delighted to say it’s going really, really well. The range is being appreciated and recognised by our customers, because for many, it is exactly what they have asked for. We’re already getting suggestions for other products they’d like to see included,” concludes Steve. To find out more about this range and the special offers running until the end of August, visit here.
