Konica Minolta partners with Color-Logic for white toner effects

The new automated workflow enables premium metallic effects and embellishments using white toner technology on AccurioPress digital devices

Konica Minolta Business Solutions Ltd has entered into a partnership with Color-Logic to bring advanced design and embellishment tools to its AccurioPress digital cut-sheet series. The collaboration is specifically aimed at users of the AccurioPress C14010s, C12010s, and C10500s devices equipped with white toner, allowing them to produce high-value metallic applications in a single pass.

The workflow allows print providers to generate 924 metallic colours without the need for specialist post-finishing or secondary embellishment equipment

The partnership focuses on integrating Color-Logic’s design-stage system, which enables the predictable and repeatable use of white toner on metallic substrates. This workflow allows print providers to generate 924 metallic colours, including 50 shades of gold, without the need for specialist post-finishing or secondary embellishment equipment. The system is designed for the production of premium direct mail, greeting cards, and short-run packaging where visual impact is a priority.

By using Color-Logic’s tools, designers can visualise metallic effects before production begins. This reduces material waste and speeds up turnaround times by ensuring the final printed result matches the designer’s original intent. The system provides a structured method for creating embellishments, fitting into Konica Minolta’s broader strategy of helping customers build more automated and profitable workflows.

Malcolm Smith, Category Manager for Professional Print at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd, said, “Our customers are looking for ways to differentiate their print and add value without adding complexity. By combining white toner with Color-Logic’s design-stage tools, they can produce premium metallic effects in a single pass with no guesswork. It is an economical way for print rooms to offer high-impact applications that command attention.”

Mark Geeves, Co-Founder and Director of Sales & Marketing at Color-Logic, added, “This partnership is about helping Konica Minolta customers turn ‘shiny stuff’ into something they can sell. By using white toner on metallic stock, producers can achieve stunning effects with speed and consistency. Together with Konica Minolta’s technology, we are giving printers a simple way to stand out in a crowded marketplace.”

The Color-Logic solution is available immediately to Konica Minolta customers and can be demonstrated at the company’s Client Engagement Centre (CEC) near Luton.
