Kavalan expands into the Philippines with new WKECH Printer Trader partnership

Leading PVC-free wide-format materials brand Kavalan has partnered with WKECH Printer Trader to distribute its sustainable product portfolio across the Philippines.

Leading PVC-free wide-format materials brand Kavalan has announced a new distribution partnership with WKECH Printer Trader. The agreement will see the large-format printing materials supplier distributing the full Kavalan sustainable materials portfolio across the Philippines.

Warren Palomer, Owner of WKECH Printer Trader, alongside Vincent Lin, Vice President of TAYA Groups.

Warren Palomer founded WKECH Printer Trader in June 2025 out of a desire to offer sustainable materials to the regional large-format print market. The company’s origins stem from a 2024 industry event, where Vincent Lin, Vice President of TAYA Groups (Kavalan’s parent company), introduced Palomer to the Kavalan PVC-free material portfolio. Following this meeting, Palomer decided to put his passion for sustainability into practice and launch his own company to supply environmentally conscious large-format print materials to the region.

The Kavalan PVC-free portfolio encompasses a wide range of specialized materials designed to replace traditional PVC, including:

  • Sunlight: A lightweight coated banner material suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.
  • Moonlight: A brilliant white banner material ideal for lightboxes and other backlit applications.
  • Butterfly: A double-sided block-out textile material.
  • Spiderweb: A highly durable PVC-free mesh banner material.
  • Gecko and Gecko Stroma: A coated wall covering material and a specialized floor mat material, respectively.

Kavalan’s banner range is fully compatible with UV, Latex, and UVgel printing technologies. The manufacturer notes that the materials are tear-resistant, flame-retardant, and weldable, offering the same flexibility and tensile strength as traditional PVC-based materials without the associated environmental impact.

According to Palomer, despite some hesitations and misconceptions regarding price, attitudes towards sustainability are actively shifting in the Philippines. WKECH Printer Trader is already working with a number of companies in the region that are keen to be among the first to adopt PVC-free substrates.

Reflecting on why sustainability is fundamental to his business, Palomer states, “It is my passion to help mother nature for our future and the future of our children. Kavalan and WKECH Printer Trader share the same vision and mission – to be the company of choice for long-term partnership in sustainability and innovation.”

Nova Abbott, Head of Marketing at Kavalan, comments on the new agreement: “It is always rewarding to partner with organisations that share our values, and WKECH Printer Trader was founded with a clear commitment to supplying sustainable material solutions to the Philippines which strongly aligns with our own mission. We look forward to working together to raise awareness of PVC-free materials and help shape a more sustainable future for the wide-format and the planet.”
