Kathryn Scott joins Canon UK & Ireland

Canon UK & Ireland has announced the appointment of Kathryn Scott as its new HR Director

In her new role, Kathryn will be responsible for not only driving forward its people vision, including its inclusive culture, but also supporting the business in continuing to develop a growth mindset to help Canon realise its mid-term growth ambitions.

Kathryn brings with her a strong track record operating as an HR Leader across a variety of sectors, including telecoms, entertainment and technology. She has built extensive experience partnering with CEOs and business leaders to provide support to help teams and organisations grow and thrive.

Prior to joining Canon, Kathryn held roles at Cisco, Imimobile, Antenna International, Sky and T-Mobile. She has experience working across a range of both local and international roles and has been exposed to a broad range of change initiatives, including relocations, acquisitions, new start-ups and restructures.

She has been dedicated to delivering a range of people development programmes, including DE&I initiatives, employee engagement activities and a variety of development interventions.

Kathryn holds an MSc in Human Resource Management; is a Chartered Member of the Institute for Personnel & Development (MCIPD); and also holds accreditations in coaching, counselling and psychometric testing.

Kathryn Scott, HR Director, Canon UK & Ireland, comments:

“Canon has a solid foundation of great HR initiatives and is clearly achieving business goals as a result of great teamwork. I’m looking forward to working with my team and all the people leaders to nurture the talent we have. It’s an exciting time to join Canon, and I’m optimistic about what we can achieve together for our employees.”

Yusuke Mizoguchi, Senior Managing Director, Canon UK & Ireland, adds: “Our people vision is to be a diverse organisation and an inclusive place to work with an aim to empower everyone to bring their whole selves to work; where they feel enabled to thrive and contribute to achieving our business goals. I’m excited to welcome Kathryn to the business and am looking forward to her input in continuing to drive our vision forward.”

Kathryn will be taking over from Debbie Brown, who, after seven years, will be moving internally to a new role as EMEA HR Director, DRBG, effective 1st July 2023.
