HP PrintOS Production Hub offers centralised management

HP has launched the cloud-based PrintOS Production Hub software solution, which offers print service providers a single, centralised platform to manage orders, print queues, and staff across their entire production environment.

Running a modern print business involves dealing with increasing complexity, including shorter turnaround times, more customised orders, and the need to meet high customer expectations. HP notes that while much print equipment is getting faster and smarter, production management still often relies heavily on manual processes, spreadsheets, and disconnected systems.

The HP PrintOS Production Hub was launched in May this year as part of the wider HP Professional Print Service plan offering

This is the purpose of the HP PrintOS Production Hub, which launched in May this year. This cloud-based software solution, part of the HP Professional Print Service portfolio, HP PrintOS Production Hub gives PSPs a single, centralised view of their entire production environment. It connects orders, HP printers, print queues, and staff, bringing all job information together in one easy-to-use platform.

With the HP PrintOS Production Hub, users can take full control of their print production, from order right through to delivery.

Automation and Cross-Platform Flexibility

Stand-out features include centralised job tracking, allowing customers to consolidate orders from multiple channels into a single platform for seamless production management. Users can also accelerate order intake and reduce communication delays using a client form, as well as maximise operational efficiency with a customisable solution for large-format print workflows.

The software offers automation benefits, including the ability to automate artwork preflight checks to ensure that files are print-ready from the start. There is also the option to send orders directly to the RIP software to minimise errors and avoid costly reprints, with the software helping to save time with inline prepress operations, from web order intake to printer output.

What makes the solution flexible is that it is not limited to HP printers. It offers the ability to automatically preflight file checks, assign jobs to printers, and directly connect to send the order to RIP across any printing device, HP or otherwise.

Additionally, with HP PrintOS Production Hub, users can remotely monitor HP Large Format printer status and manage job queues in real time, with the option to reorder, pause, resume, or cancel jobs instantly from a desktop or mobile. Users also receive alerts when supplies run low or print quality is at risk, allowing them to resolve issues before they disrupt production. Operators can also boost their efficiency with data insights by leveraging historical production data to identify trends.

HP PrintOS Production Hub can be accessed from a PC, while some functionalities are available from within the HP PrintOS Production Hub mobile app, which can be downloaded from the official Apple and Android stores.

Oscar Vidal, Global Director, Product and Strategy, Large Format Printing at HP, says, “Our customers consistently tell us how easy it is to get started – no setup required, just immediate value.”

Users can choose from three packages to bring HP PrintOS Production Hub into their business, depending on the individual needs and level of support required: a free trial that offers full access to all functionalities for three months with no tie in, a direct purchase option, and the PLUS Plan for users seeking wider support, including proactive support with HP’s Service Centre and remote and on-site support engineers, helping avoid unexpected costs with spare parts and maintenance.
