Henderson Signs add verve to production with new ColorJet

The Chertsey-based sign-making business sees boost having taken delivery of the new ColorJet Verve 2513R in June 2024

Family-run Henderson Signs was established in 1930 but actually began life as a window cleaning business, working with a large number of estate agents. It was only when a customer asked if the company could install some signs that it found itself in the signage market. Some 40 years later, the business has not looked back and now provides everything from estate agent boards and signs to construction site hoardings and advertising banners.

The company recently went in search of a new printer to replace an older machine that had been in place for over 10 years. The search took the company to Sign & Digital UK in February, where Alan Henderson, Director of Henderson Signs, saw the ColorJet Verve 2513R in action on the QPS stand.

A true flatbed machine, the ColorJet Verve 2513R enables high-quality direct printing onto almost any kind of rigid surface including wood, glass, leather and ceramic tiles. Offering a top printing speed of up to 91sq m/hr, the device also has a maximum print resolution of 1200dpi.

“The old machine we had was very slow, so when we saw the new printer being demonstrated on the QPS stand, we were very impressed,” Alan said. “This new machine is so much faster and allows us to get so much more work done.”

The ColorJet Verve 2513R was installed at the Henderson Signs facility in Chertsey in June and, according to Alan, has made a “significant” difference to production during the three months it has been running.

“It enables us to cover all existing customers and gives us time to take on new clients,” Alan said. “The printer has made a significant difference to the company in the last few months and while we haven’t tried any new markets just yet, we are ready to explore opportunities as they arise.”

Alan also took the opportunity to praise QPS for its support throughout the entire process, from the initial viewing at Sign & Digital UK through to the actual purchase, installation and aftercare.

“We’ve been very satisfied with the product that we purchased and the service that’s being given,” he said.
