Epson has announced the SureColor G9000, a high-production Direct-To-Film printer designed for the textile transfer market.
Epson has announced the launch of the SureColor G9000, a high-production Direct-To-Film (DTFilm) printer. Scheduled for availability through authorised resellers in Summer 2026, the new model expands the company’s existing textile line-up alongside the SC-G6000.

Epson states that it developed the SC-G9000 to address the global demand for flexible textile transfer printing. The manufacturer notes that DTFilm technology currently sees rapid expansion, with an eight per cent forecast in annual growth, while traditional Direct-To-Garment (DTG) printing volumes face a decline. The SC-G9000 represents Epson’s first high-production, roll-to-roll system within this category. It targets commercial garment decorators and textile producers who require increased speed and volume.
The printer handles a wide variety of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, nylon, leather, and rigid surfaces. Epson emphasises that the SC-G9000 offers a “complete solution” because the company manufactures the chassis, printhead, inks, and software itself. The firm claims this integration ensures optimal system compatibility and long-term reliability for operators.
Technically, the SC-G9000 integrates a 2.64-inch PrecisionCore Micro TFP printhead with a symmetrical nozzle arrangement. It utilizes large 1.6L UltraChrome DF ink pouches to support sustained throughput. The device operates at a default resolution of 1200×600 dpi. Epson says this resolution achieves faster production speeds and superior image quality compared to previous models. A built-in after-heater prevents ink dripping and broadens media compatibility.
To support high-volume environments, the printer features automated daily maintenance. This includes a fabric wiper that cleans the printhead and an automated system for cleaning the suction cap. The company states that this automation reduces the need for manual intervention and maximises uptime in busy production facilities. Furthermore, the design includes user-replaceable printheads to minimize service wait times.
For operator usability, the machine includes a 4.3-inch touchscreen, a signal lamp, and internal print-area lighting to provide clear visual feedback during production. It supports media rolls up to 1,626mm wide.
Phil McMullin, Head of Sales, Commercial & Industrial, Epson UK, comments, “Customers have told us they need greater productivity, more reliability and less hands-on maintenance. The SC-G9000 delivers on all fronts, giving demanding production environments a high-performance solution engineered entirely by Epson. Using proven technology from existing Epson platforms such as the SC-R5000 and SC-F3000, the SC-G9000 delivers the speed, reliability and image quality customers expect.”
The unit ships with Epson Edge Print Pro and Fiery Digital Factory Epson Production Edition RIP software. It also supports leading third-party ISV RIP solutions. Epson will sell the SC-G9000 as a printer-only unit, while partners supply the necessary powder shakers, curing units, and consumables.
