The large format specialist has appointed Andy Kennett as its new Commercial Development Director
Dominion Print is a Bradford-based family business founded more than 40 years ago. The company has built a strong reputation as a specialist print business known for quality production, service and problem-solving. To identify the best person for this important placement, the company worked with industry recruitment specialist Matt Hanley of M-TWO Search.
Verity Fox, Managing Director at Dominion Print, says that the appointment was about finding a strategic partner rather than just filling a sales vacancy. “As a family-run business with a deep heritage, bringing in senior talent from the outside requires a specific cultural fit. We didn’t necessarily just want someone to get new business and fill the role of new business development manager. We made the decision to work with Matt to find the right person and we are very happy we did.”

Matt Hanley at M-TWO Search comments, “The brief was to find someone who could help Dominion meet their ambitious and exciting growth plans. This is exactly the sort of role I love to get involved with and I was delighted to be able to introduce someone of the calibre of Andy Kennett. Both parties hit it off really well and it’s a great outcome for everyone.”
Verity adds, “I described to Matt what we are looking for and he very quickly came back with an excellent person who was perfect for the role. This has saved us a huge amount of time and uncertainty compared to trying to find someone ourselves.”
For Andy Kennett, the connection with M-TWO was equally vital. Having spent the last few years in the print sector, he viewed Matt Hanley as the natural port of call when looking for his next step.
Andy Kennett says, “In the sign and large format print industry, Matt is pretty much on everybody’s radar. We had been in touch for some time, and when the time was right for me to look at my next challenge, Matt was my go-to.”
A ‘sleeping giant’
The attraction of Dominion Print for Andy was immediate. He says, “Dominion already works with some of the world’s most recognisable brands, but when you see the scale of the operation and the expertise within the team, it’s obvious we’re only scratching the surface of what the business can become. There’s a real opportunity to broaden how the market views Dominion and the types of projects we’re known for delivering. It’s a bit of a sleeping giant.”
The chemistry between Andy and the Dominion team was evident to everyone from the first meeting. “I went away after the interview and was up till two in the morning thinking of all the different things to do.”
Verity adds, “As soon as we met Andy, we could see that this would be a really good fit. You could tell that Andy really listens, got on well with the team and he’s really strategic.”
Banners and beyond
Looking ahead, the focus is on broadening the market’s perception of what Dominion can do.
Andy says, “Since starting in the role, I have spent time getting to know the company and the team, and this has gone really well so far. One of my main initial objectives is to start building on the company’s perception. Dominion is generally known as a prolific manufacturer of banners. This is something we do very, very well, but it’s also a surprisingly small part of what we actually do as a business. The potential is through the roof.”
Verity agrees that the future is about leveraging their technical knowledge to support clients on more complex projects. She concludes, “We’ve got a vast wealth of knowledge and experience within the company. We’ve taken Andy on to help us support more customers by using that knowledge to deliver larger and more complex projects. It’s an incredibly exciting time to be a part of this company and we are looking forward to what the future holds.”
