Color-Logic launches Visualis3R embossing and debossing module

Color-Logic has announced a new module for Visualis3R that allows designers to visualise embossing and debossing effects before production.

Color-Logic has announced the launch of the Visualis3R Embossing and Debossing module. As the exclusive distributor for Visualis3R, the company has introduced this tool to assist designers, agencies, brands, and printers in accurately visualising embellishment effects prior to the production stage.

The new module addresses a common challenge within the print and packaging industry. While embossing and debossing remain popular techniques for adding tactile impact to printed materials, predicting the final outcome on different substrates has historically proven difficult without physical proofing. Color-Logic states that the new software removes this uncertainty by enabling users to preview the depth, dimension, and interaction of these elements directly within their design workflow.

Mark Geeves, Director of Sales and Marketing at Color-Logic, comments on the utility of the new tool. He says: “Embossing and debossing are highly sought-after embellishment techniques that add tactile and visual impact to printed materials. Still, until now, graphic designers and printers have found it difficult to predict how these effects will appear on different substrates and designs. The Visualis3R embossing and debossing module removes this uncertainty by allowing users to preview the depth, dimension, and interaction of embossed and debossed elements directly within their design workflow.”

To support the launch, Color-Logic has released an educational video in the Visualis3R Academy. The video guides users through the interface and demonstrates best practices for both digital and offset workflows. The company claims that the platform effectively bridges the gap between designer intent and production reality.

Geeves explains the content of the training material. He states: “The educational video, available now in the Visualis3R Academy, walks users through the module’s intuitive features and interface. It covers the fundamentals of embossing and debossing, showcases best practices for both digital and offset workflows, and demonstrates how the Visualis3R platform bridges the gap between designer intent and production reality. By understanding these effects in an interactive visual format, graphic designers and printers can communicate more effectively, reduce costly trial-and-error, and bring embellished products to market faster and more economically.”

The primary goal of the module is to reduce the guesswork often associated with complex finishing techniques. By providing a digital visualisation, brands can refine special effects before committing to the press, which Color-Logic suggests will lead to more predictable outcomes.

Geeves adds: “Embossing and debossing are powerful tools that enable brands to create memorable printed pieces, but the lack of visualization often leads to guesswork and inefficiencies as they are produced. The new Visualis3R module provides users the ability to see and refine their embossing and debossing special effects before going to press, resulting in more predictable outcomes and faster time to market.”

Color-Logic specialises in colour communication systems and software toolsets for special effect printing. The company works with brand owners, product managers, and advertising agencies to differentiate clients through decorative effects that utilise existing print workflows without requiring special equipment.
