Color-Logic has announced a partnership with Visualis3R to provide creative professionals with accurate digital previews of advanced print embellishments.
Color-Logic has announced a strategic partnership with Visualis3R, a new software solution designed to simulate complex print embellishments. The global provider of metallic colour communication systems states that this collaboration aims to give designers and printers absolute confidence in their advanced print projects before they commit to production.

Developed by the creator of both Color-Logic and Touch7, Visualis3R brings hyper-realistic rendering technology to the prepress and graphic design sectors. The software accurately simulates the final production appearance of various effects, including foils, embossing, varnishes, silver ink, white ink, and extra-colour applications. Color-Logic claims that by providing a true-to-life digital preview, the software helps users eliminate guesswork, reduce material costs, and save valuable production time.
The software fully supports Color-Logic files, ensuring seamless integration for existing licensees. However, the developers have also made Visualis3R available to print service providers and graphic designers who do not currently hold a Color-Logic license. This standalone availability allows a broader range of industry professionals to access visualization tools for embellishment projects.
Technical capabilities of the software include the ability to visualise clear inks, varnishes, and coatings layered atop special effects. On digital presses, the system simulates hybrid printing workflows, such as applying white ink or foil in the first unit, followed by digital CMYK and spot or flood coatings. Furthermore, the software allows users to inspect ink trapping within conventional and digital printing processes involving silver inks, as well as the effect of white ink or toners on metallic stock. It is compatible with both Mac and Windows operating systems.
Mark Geeves, Director of Sales and Marketing at Color-Logic, comments on the utility of the new tool: “Color-Logic has always been committed to simplifying and enhancing the print embellishment process. Now, Visualis3R removes the uncertainty from advanced print effects that our system supports, such as digital and conventional cold foil (sleeking), and utilisation of varnishes or clear coats atop Color-Logic effects. Now, Color-Logic licensees and their clients can preview and perfect their embellishments with total confidence—before anything is printed.”
Geeves adds that opening the software to non-licensees represents a significant shift. He notes: “This means graphic designers and printers can now enter the world of embellishment, and enjoy visualisation to save valuable production press time and materials.”
