CarbonQuota and UFABRIK announce new working relationship

UFABRIK’s collaboration with CarbonQuota aims to ensure that every scientific claim about its products is backed by audited and certified data.

UFABRIK has announced its progressive engagement with CarbonQuota, the specialist carbon technology and consulting business in packaging, print, media and logistics, to validate its product portfolio through a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) programme.

Recognising the growing demand for independent verified transparency, UFABRIK’s collaboration with CarbonQuota aims to ensure that every scientific claim is backed by audited and certified data. By implementing rigorous LCAs, UFABRIK seeks to remove ambiguity from the market providing its customers and brands with clear independent environmental information for all textiles within its range.

“We really want to cut through the ambiguity surrounding sustainability in the wide format digital printing industry,” said Robin East, Group Chief Commercial Officer at UFABRIK. “We don’t want to follow senseless standards that have created a disingenuous trend of product positioning, now so commonly used in greenwashing; we’re looking to redefine honest and credible certification within our industry. Our relationship with CarbonQuota ensures that our sustainability strategy is rooted in science, with a measured and accurate carbon footprint, identifying opportunity for further improvement.”

By embarking on this journey, UFABRIK will demonstrate transparency and measurable progress. Leading by example, it will set a precedent for how environmental claims should be made and verified.

Dominic Harris, co-founder at CarbonQuota said, “UFABRIK’s commitment to a full lifecycle strategy represents a major step forward. It is a serious, science-led approach that we are proud to support.”

UFABRIK says its intention to integrate LCA will strengthen its leadership position where sustainability claims are credible and proven. It will also offer value to customers – helping them to meet their own regulatory and sustainability targets with assuredness and confidence.
