Agfa Ciervo H3200 is a great fit for Whiteghyll

Whiteghyll installs new Agfa Ciervo hybrid printer and software to handle more jobs, improve efficiency, and meet growing customer demand

Founded in 1990, Whiteghyll Ltd delivers creative design and print solutions for some of the UK’s most recognisable high street brands. They specialise in producing impactful retail displays that bring products and spaces to life.

As well as print, Whiteghyll offers full end to end services, spanning in-house design, bespoke joinery, vinyl application and full on-site installation. This model enables the business to deliver fast, creative and precision-engineered retail display solutions, whether a full shop fit-out, LED signage system, or branded Point of Sale (POS).

“People are the beating heart of every business, and the team here is hands-on, highly skilled, and always committed to quality,” said Richard Egan, Director at Whiteghyll. “We’re known for combining creative out-of-the-box thinking with practical know-how. We are ready for anything, and our production setup needs to reflect that.

Investing in flexibility and efficiency

With a growing customer base and rising demand, Whiteghyll needed a wide-format press that could offer impressive agility, premium performance, and dual-roll capabilities. To meet this need, the company installed an Agfa Anapurna Ciervo H3200 high-performance 3.2m hybrid inkjet press in early 2025.

Kevin Green, Print & Graphics Manager at Whiteghyll

As Kevin Green, Print & Graphics Manager at Whiteghyll, explained: “There’s been a real push from our customers for sustainability-focused substrates like PALBOARD® and eco-vinyls too. Newer materials can be challenging to work with, and our older kit wasn’t achieving what we wanted it to. We needed some new technology in the business! When I saw the Anapurna Ciervo H3200 at The Print Show, out of the machines I saw, the people I saw, along with the software, it was the clear choice for us; it ticks every single box!”

Doing more jobs, with less waste

The Anapurna Ciervo H3200 has become central to Whiteghyll’s production workflow. As a hybrid wide-format platform, it handles both rigid board and roll-fed materials with ease, running UV LED-curable inks with a six-colour plus white ink set. It supports media up to 3.2m wide and offers the flexibility to tackle a wide variety of incoming jobs daily.

“We’ve got the Anapurna Ciervo H3200 running rigids and rolls almost all day, every day, and it doesn’t disappoint,” added Kevin. “It’s consistent, faster and quicker, generally just a better machine. We have confidence in the result.”

That reliability has translated directly into productivity. Whiteghyll estimates that it completes 2-3 times more jobs per day compared to its previous press setup. With faster warmup, simpler changeovers and minimal operator intervention required, turnaround times have also noticeably improved. Whiteghyll uses its Anapurna Ciervo H3200 to run jobs on a wide range of substrates, including Correx for tasks such as estate agent boards, Foamex PVC for POS displays, vinyl window graphics and premium Dibond® signage.

“With our previous printers, the sheets could only be fed vertically,” explained Kevin. “Now we can feed sheets landscape and utilise the full width of the press to maximise print efficiency. It’s halved the printing time of jobs for us. Furthermore, there is a choice of print bands, so we can choose the print speed and quality we need.”

RIP aids production

To complement its new press, Whiteghyll integrated Agfa Asanti RIP and software into its production studio, creating a seamless link between design, print and finishing. Asanti handles pre-flighting, nesting and layout tasks while maintaining colour consistency across substrates. This integration has not only saved time in prepress but cuts the risk of errors downstream.

Kevin added: “If we didn’t have the Asanti software, we wouldn’t have been able to deliver some of the jobs that our customers have asked for. Setup was previously all completed manually but Asanti means this is all automated at the click of a button. What would have taken me hours to do before, happens in a matter of minutes now. That time saving is incredible for any printer.

“The ink saving alone is significant,” said Kevin. “We’re using noticeably less ink per job, but the output is still razor-sharp and vibrant. What’s more, the machine width and Asanti nesting and tiling feature means we can typically print 50% more on a single sheet, so we’re creating less material waste without making any compromises. Printers live and die by the quality of production, so that’s a big win; especially with the volume we’re running.”

Agfa support

Installation of the Ciervo was completed quickly, with Agfa’s service team supporting a seamless transition. The press and Asanti software were operational within a day, and operators were fully trained and running live jobs confidently within a week. For Whiteghyll, Agfa’s service and technical support have been just as important as the machine itself.

Kevin added: “The support we get from our dedicated Agfa team is fantastic. Any issues or queries we have, they’re responsive and can access the machine remotely. That means technical issues can be solved within minutes, and it gives us the confidence to keep pushing the technology’s limits.”

Today, the Anapurna Ciervo H3200 sits at the heart of Whiteghyll’s print room, delivering the speed, consistency, and quality the company needs to keep pace with customer expectations and complex schedules. With rapid output, better ink efficiency, and fewer production headaches, the press has given Whiteghyll the confidence to take on more work and push for growth.

Emma Plant, Sales Manager (North) at Agfa concludes: “Whiteghyll is exactly the kind of partner we love to work with; technically sharp, creatively ambitious, and committed to print excellence. They had a very clear set of challenges to meet, and the Anapurna Ciervo H3200 was the ideal fit. With dual-roll and hybrid capabilities, integrated Asanti workflow and reliable six colour plus white output, it’s built for the kind of flexible, high-volume work they do every day. Seeing how quickly they’ve scaled up their output across a wide array of substrates, while improving efficiency and material use, has been a great success story. We’re proud to support them as they continue growing.”
